THE MAYA MILLENNIA MASQUERADE BALL

On this very special date:  12.21.12, I was in Boulder and with my beloved ones, the Kan’Nal tribe and other wonderful people in Denver-Boulder. We decided to celebrate this special date: the beginning of a new cycle of time according to the Maya Calendar.

It was the time when many said it would be the end of the world.  So we decided to make it a joyous occasion, for we were ready to start a new cycle of time in ceremony, concert and celebration, and it was quite an amazing occasion.

We started the ceremony wiith an amazing documentary: 2012: the Beginning, created by my dear Shannon Kring.  The film illuminated us with the true concept of the change of times according to the Maya Calendar.

The ceremonial part had a  great meaning and symbology for me. Present were my beloved soul grandchild Tirian in the arms of his mom, Kaewyn Picard, healer and alchemist extraordinaire. This child represented a new generation who shared with me the opening of the ceremonial part of the evening.

My dear friend and shaman LionFire, accompanied by his amazing crystal Skulls, lead a drum circle. We were about 300 at that time, and everybody paraded around, wearing amazing tribal costumes. We danced and celebrated to the rhythm of LionFire's drum.  I silently scurried outside to the cold winter night to prepare the sacred fire and to say good bye to the last day of the Baktun.  As I lit the Sacred Fire Ceremony, I looked up to discover I was surrounded by beautiful people. Together, we were in deep invocation of the Spirits of Nature, Life, Heavens, and all the multidimensional energies present in this moment of creation.

After the ceremony we had the joy of enjoying music from Buddha Bomb and Miraya, very well known DJ’s from the area.

A highlight of the evening was thevery first Kan’Nal reunion concert, along with Lunar Fire, Tierro and all the amazing artists who were part of the creation and manifestation of such beautiful gathering of souls.

The night ended at 3 am, and all of us, well danced and well celebrated, headed home full of hope and inner joy.

Today, 6 years afterwards, those seeds we planted in our hearts have developed further. We continue to organize and participate in amazing ceremonies, and sacred events. The evolution  of the tribe of Light ~ Love~ Life has been spectacular .  We have had challenges, hard times, we had to let go of beloved ones, but there is still that seed, now transformed into beautiful trees full of flowers and fruits, that goes on and on and on…..
